History

The European Tyre and Rim Technical Organization (ETRTO) is a non-profit association that brings together the main manufacturers of tyres and rims in Europe. Its mission is to promote the safe and effective use of tyres and rims, as well as to contribute to the development of technology in these fields.
ETRTO strives to provide tyre and rim professionals with high-quality technical information and work tools to improve road safety and vehicle performance. It also works closely with regulatory authorities and international organizations to develop standards and regulations aimed at ensuring the quality and safety of products.
E.T.R.T.O. was founded in October 1964 but previously, from 1956 to 1964, it was known as the European Tyre and Wheel Technical Conference (ETWTC). Its principal objects, as stated in the current E.T.R.T.O. Constitution dated October 2012, are as follows :

- To further align of national standards and ultimately to achieve interchangeability of pneumatic tyres, rims and valves in Europe as far as fitting and use are concerned. 
- To establish common engineering dimensions, load / pressure characteristics and operational guidelines. 
- To promote the free exchange of technical information appertaining to pneumatic tyres, rims and valves. 
 
Since tyres are recognised as making a major contribution to road safety, E.T.R.T.O. is active in its contacts with national and international organisations and legislative bodies in order to make appropriate recommendations. However, the activities of E.T.R.T.O. are strictly confined to technical aspects of tyres, rims and valves as far as fitting and use are concerned.

Si le socialisme a échoué en Algérie, comme dans d'autres pays du monde arabo-musulman, comment garantir la réussite de la démocratie ? Si le parti unique a étouffé l'initiative, bloqué la société, qui peut assurer que le multipartisme enfantera la liberté et le progrès ? Et si nous vivons la fin des idéologies, qu'en est-il de cette notion essentielle qu'est la modernité ? Pouvons-nous la refuser en nous réclamant du principe identitaire ? The primary source for quality control standards
